Treasurer’s Report: 

• The General Fund = $7,737.57
• The Scholarship Fund = $4,681.49
• The Money Market Fund = $99,262.24

 Money received at the banquet for the sole purpose of scholarship has not been added.  When those funds are added and all scholarships have been paid, the Scholarship Fund will have $3,146.49 to begin the 2011-12 school year.

 When the STEM Academy opens, there will be 3 scholarships of $2,500.00 each.  The first class to receive that scholarship from STEM will be the class of 2014.

 Minutes:

·         The March 2011 minute were approved on a motion from Ruth Ann Protivnak and was seconded by Bill Mason with one change.   

·         Karla will be working on Saturday’s for a while due to job requirements, but will remain as recording secretary.  Donna Kneisly will take the minutes in her absence.  The association was asked if this was acceptable and it was affirmed by all.

·         Karla is asked to send a thank you note to the classes for their contributions to the sign construction.  Bill Mason has the list of classes.

  Student reports:

 Banquet Committee Report:

• 70 people attended
• Ginny Pierce wrote a follow-up report (attached)
• Ginny Pierce submitted her resignation as Banquet Committee Chairman for 2012 (attached)
• Ideas for next year were brainstormed.  They included:
  • Sending e-mail invitations to the thousands of Alumni for whom  we have e-mail addresses
  • Place an advertisement in the local newspapers of the upcoming banquet

 Fund raising

• The association will not be handling the Canoe Race for Good Neighbor Day as previously agreed.  The Rotary Club will continue to handle this event.

 Scholarship Committee

• The Scholarship Committee met to select the recipients of each scholarship.  The committee consisted of the following Alumni

• There were 34 applicants from West and 32 applicants from East. 
• The scholarships will be presented at the respective graduation ceremonies.

o   Please note that if it rains for East graduation and the ceremony is held inside, it was requested by the administration that only the scholarship presenter be in attendance.  All other Alumni should not attend due to space constraints.

o   Please meet in the cafeteria at 4:30 at West for each of the outdoor ceremonies

·         Dates to remember: 

o   October 14, 2011 – West’s Homecoming

o   October 28, 2011 – East’s Homecoming

o   October 21, 2011 – East/West Game   

·         Goals for next year:

o   Sending letter (e-mail) to all alumni explaining who we are, what we do and inviting them to become active in the association. This letter will go out in the summer. 

·         Meeting Place – The June meeting has been eliminated due to the fact that the school will not be open.  We will meet at West on September 17, 2011.  Ernie Jameson offered the Historical Society as a place to meet in the future.  All decisions regarding that have been tabled for a later date.
